10 New Words ( Part 1 )

Good evening, everyone. ;)

These are the ten new words that I have learned last week. I discovered these words while I was reading some articles from the New York Times website. I found it interesting,so I decided to note these words down and search them through the dictionary. Here are my words :

 1. Oscitant
     > yawning,as with drowsiness

2. Poignant
    > evoking a keen sense of sadness or regret.

3. Embellish
    > make something more attractive by the addition of decorative or feature.

4. Scherzando
    > playful; sportive

5. Cakewalk
    > something easily accomplished

6. Macabre
    > gruesome and horrifying

7. Circumspect
    > cautious, prudent

8. Macaronic
    > composed of a mixture of languages

9. Aphotic 
    > lightless, dark

10. Zonule
     > a small zone
